Ukraine Has Many Friends, Russia Is Isolated, MEPs Say
Members of the European Parliament have re-iterated their strong stance in defence of Ukraine’s independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty, insisting the country had many friends within the international community as opposed to Russia which stood on its own in its action. Parliament re-iterated its message that while the EU remains open to dialogue with Russia, it will remain firm on its principles and will not hold back in imposing unprecedented sanctions should Russia decide to intervene in Ukraine. They said that the sanctions being prepared would bring “massive costs” to Russia.
